Blending mushrooms with lean meats, such as bison, is the trick to keeping burgers juicy and tender. These burgers are served bun-free for a protein-packed meal.
Ingredients
Instructions
Add 8 ounces of mushrooms to bowl of a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Blend together mushrooms and ground bison in a medium bowl. Add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika and pepper, and mix well. Form into 6 patties.
Slice remaining 8 mushrooms. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Cook mushrooms, stirring often, for 7 to 8 minutes, until browned and tender.
Heat grill to high-heat. Grill burgers about 5 minutes on each side, until they reach desired doneness. Alternatively, burgers can be cooked in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Top burgers with sliced mushrooms before serving wrapped in a lettuce leaf with your favorite toppings.

Excellent flavor even with my omitting salt and garlic. You cannot go wrong with bison and mushrooms two winners.
