Earlier this year, we held the third annual Blended Burger Contest. From Memorial Day through July 31, both home cooks and professionals were encouraged to cook up a unique blended burger made with at least 25% finely chopped, fresh, cultivated mushrooms for a chance to win $10K each and their winning burger photo featured in the November issue of Food Network Magazine.
This year’s contest drew in more than 1,300 entries from across the nation. After reviewing thousands of delicious entries, we were wowed (and full!). We are excited to announce the two winning burgers worth $10,000.

Buffalo Chicken Blended Burger from Wendy Tien
If you’re a fan of buffalo sauce, this burger was made for you! A ground chicken and oyster mushroom blended patty meets homemade blue cheese mayo, buffalo sauce and a celery salad for a burger that delivers spicy flavor with a crunchy bite.
Wendy explained that she made her mushroom choice because, “Oyster mushrooms have an uncanny resemblance to chicken in taste and texture, making them perfect for this take on buffalo chicken in a burger.”

An American classic gets a Vietnamese spin with this Bánh Mì Blended Burger. This winning burger is a beef, pork and shiitake blended patty that’s topped with pickled veggies, spicy lime mayo and fried oyster mushrooms.
What inspired Alison? “I love Vietnamese cuisine, and I also love incorporating vegetables into dishes in unexpected ways. There’s no better way to combine these two takes than with a Bánh Mì Blended Burger.”
