It’s back and bigger than ever: the James Beard Foundation’s 5th Annual Blended Burger Project™ – the largest celebration of blended burgers in the nation.
With the Project entering such a monumental year, we knew we had to mark the milestone by inviting some of our favorite foodie friends to join the party: Bon Appétit. If you’ve ever searched for dinner inspiration, looked up a recipe “how to” or just love scrolling through delicious food photos, chances are you’re familiar with this popular publication – and know that they know good food.
If we’re hosting the party, that makes Bon Appétit senior food editor Chris Morocco the guest of honor. And lucky for us, he knows how to whip up one of the best blended burgers we’ve ever had.
Blended Double-Patty Smashburger
While we may say this on occasion (er, a lot), this time we are putting it all on the line: you need to try this burger. The mushroom-beef blend adds a major punch of umami, the patty is complete with crispy edges and the toppings are simple yet flavor packed. Bonus: it’s extremely easy to make. Better make it a triple!
