Food and fun were had by all, as Chef Amir Hajimaleki served up blended burgers at Austin Food + Wine Festival 2017!
On April 29-30, Team Blenditarian set up The Blenditarian Grill for the first time at Austin Food + Wine’s Grand Taste, a festival showcasing some of the country’s top wine, spirits and culinary exhibitors. Over the course of the two-day tasting extravaganza, we sampled more than 3,000 blended burgers to hungry attendees!
On the menu: The Umami Burger, a 40/60 oyster mushroom/Wagyu beef blend, topped with a Japanese Island Sauce, pickled bok choy, thinly sliced cucumbers and Delice de Bourgogne cheese. The man behind the burger? Chef Amir Hajimaleki of Oasthouse Kitchen + Bar and District Kitchen + Cocktails.
The Blenditarian Grill, sandwiched between local winery and craft brewery exhibitors, soon became a prime spot for people to fuel up. As thousands of eager foodies waited their turn to grab a juicy burger, we made sure they learned about the equally delicious perks of adopting The Blend.
What did attendees have to say about the blended burgers at Austin Food + Wine?
Not to toot our own horn, but we couldn’t help but overhear that The Blenditarian Grill was the “hottest booth in the whole place” and “everyone is talking about the sliders.” Chef Amir could barely set a burger on the table before the next person in line swooped it up. It was an exciting, fast-paced weekend for everyone involved!
See you in 2018, Austin – and in the meantime, keep it weird!
